Frequently asked question:

What are the most important rules for driving on the Nurburgring Nordschleife during Touristenfahrten/tourist sessions?

Considering a few basic rules will make sure that your driving experience on the Nurburgring will be smooth and great fun.
Overtaking ist allowed on the left only. Wait for a section with good visibility where you can easily let pass a faster car coming up from behind. Set the turn signal to the right and move to the right part of the racetrack. This indicates the following car that you see it coming. Don’t feel pressured by faster cars. It is important to take a look in th rearviewmirror, but even more important to be in control and aware of what is happening in front of you.

You can inform the staff at the main entrance about reckless drivers at any time. Track marshalls patrol the track to ensure safe driving. They have the right to ban cars from the track as well.

Traffic is often very mixed during Touristenfahrten/tourist sessions. Aside from slower and also very fast cars, you will share the Nurburgring with motor bikes and sometimes also bus coaches. If you would like to be on the track with cars only, we recommennd that you book on of the various Nurburgring Trackdays. A Trackday usually lasts from morning till late afternoon and allows you to drive as many laps on the Nordschleife as you wish. Check out our Nurburgring Trackday section for dates and more infos.
